2009 will mark YogaDudes 6th year in business and this past holiday season made me question why I started this business to begin with. My love of yoga is what inspired me, but the business end of things started to work completely against the spirit of yoga. The stress levels rose significantly and I nearly made myself sick with worry that packages wouldn’t arrive in time and we would have unhappy customers. All the stressing was a complete waste of time. Every single customer that I dealt with throughout the entire busy season was nothing but patient and understanding. That is when I realized that in over 5 years I never came across a difficult or angry customer! There is no other segment of the consumer world that I would rather do business with than fellow yogis. I would like to express my sincere thank you for the pleasure of doing business with you.

The Future of YogaDudes

The past very busy two months have brought about some new plans for YogaDudes. In 2009 we are planning to move our inventory to a fulfillment center. This will bring about a few changes including a more streamlined product line, a possible restocking fee for returned items, and some orders may be delivered in two separate shipments. We will do our very best to keep the same low shipping rates that we currently offer.

In an effort to reduce some of our inventory we are discontinuing some products. We have very limited quantities of the following items and are trying to push them out the door. Take advantage of some great closeout sales at up to 50% off on the following items:

What Yoga Pose Are You?

Take an online quiz to find out what yoga pose you are (quiz link at bottom of this article). I discovered that am a Tree Pose. Quite fitting as this just happens to be my favorite yoga pose.

You easily rise above pettiness. While people sometimes accuse you of being stubborn, you are able to shift focus when you need to.

Pursuing the Dream of Yoga Instructor Certification

After years of thinking about it and wishing for it . . . and a couple more years of procrastination and finding all the reasons why I shouldn’t pursue my dream, I finally decided to just go for it and start my training to become a certified yoga instructor. I am both excited and scared. I do worry that all the reasons I conjured up for not going through with it are still valid. There are some poses that I’ll never be able to achieve. I still have old injuries and funny body parts that will not cooperate in some poses. I am also a little old for a new career adventure. But regardless of all these things I still want to pursue it. Even if I never get out there and teach a real class, at a real studio, it means a lot to me to have the training. Yoga has always fascinated me and my desire to learn more is getting overwhelming.
